MAJOR ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Energy Harvester GPS Tracking device (Senior Design Project, Group Leader) August 2013 – May 2014
Made an insole-shoe tracking device powered by an Energy Harvester that converts the force from the impulses of walking into electrical
current (patent-pending).
• Designed the electrical system for the GPS tracking unit capable of uploading coordinates to a remote server via RF.
• The device is to be worn by Alzheimer’s patients, deaf people, and children.
• Achieved outstanding performance reviews and recognition from the President of Florida International University (FIU).
Traffic Light Simulator (Team Leader) Jan 2013 – May 2013
Designed and implemented a four traffic light scenario and computer program simulating a four-way intersection.
Tested the voltage and resistance in the circuit, using ohmmeters and voltmeters.
•
The project was composed of LEDS, capacitors, and resistors that light up to direct traffic.
•
Designed layout for integrated circuits, according to engineering specifications, using computer assisted design
•
equipment and software.
