Student IT Specialist (May 2014 – Present)
• Provide Distance Learning/Web Conferencing for faculty and
students using lecture capture audio-visual equipment, cameras, projectors, document cameras and
Adobe-Connect software.
• Designed and created training videos using Adobe Creative
Suite and Camtasia to help new student employee’s campus wide operate technology related
equipment within and outside buildings. This improved efficiency and saved funds for the university
that would have been used to hire an external company to create the training videos.
• Install, configure and deploy servers, workstations, laptops
and printers.
• Ensure a campus-wide network free problem.
• Design digital and graphical posters for the Information
Technology department.
• Trouble shoot computer related problems for faculty, staff and
students across campus.
• Setting up, pre-checking equipment in all conference and
functional rooms across the university to ensure all programs and functions run smoothly without
technology hitches.
Ignite Intern (March 2014 – Present)
• My team and I utilized our understanding of Objective-C,
Cocoa, Java, C++ and the internals of iOS, android and windows frameworks to design and build an
app for the University.
• The app, Valparaiso University Focus App has since been
published on Apple’s AppStore, Google Play and Windows store.
• The app won my colleague and I the Communications Award
from SIGUCCS, which was presented to us at the SIGUCCS Fall 2014 National Conference in Salt
Lake City, Utah.
