WALGREEN'S DISTRIBUTION CENTER - Mount Vernon, IL - February 1990 to August 2006

• Manager of maintenance for Walgreen's largest Distribution Center. Center consists of over 24 miles of

Siemens conveyor (APC, slider bed, and belt on roller), six sorters (one RS 200, four pop up wheel sorters,

and one PS140 tube sorter), four automatic picking machines (S.I. A-Frame machines), and 145 Crown and

Raymond Lift Trucks, ten that are 50 ft. Turret Trucks. Due to proper maintenance, sorters operate 99+% of

the time and other equipment operated 99% of the time.

• Manage a yearly maintenance expense budget.

• Manage a yearly expense and capital building budget for 850,000 sq.ft. building.

• Manage a 70-person department (32 maintenance team members, 1 supervisor, 4 function team leader, 1

supervisor of parts, 1 data entry clerk, and 30 janitors)

• Management duties include budgeting, staffing, evaluating proposals and awarding contracts to outside

vendors, leading staff meetings, negotiating maintenance and repair contracts, and preventative maintenance

and repair scheduling

• Examples of recent projects: o Replacement of front sorter curve and 6 to 1 merge, work was done by outside

vendor Siemens

o Replacement of 60 Ton roof top HVAC unit

o Implemented companywide program that allows vendors to bid on supplies for janitorial and maintenance

needs

• Achieved the best record for use of CMMS system company wide

• Manage/maintain/repair 42 HVAC units for the 850,000 sq. ft. Distribution Center
