*Gordon Jewelry Corporation sold to Zales Jewelers, which in turn, closed my
division of stores. I had no recourse but to obtain other employment.

under my supervision. I have extensive P&L and Accounts Recieveable
experience and Collections. I also have automotive sales experience with Hanna
Abington Ford(currently Hixson Autoplex). Pete Abington and William Hanna were
the owners at the time(the late 70's and early 50's).
Styles Jewelers 1987 1990 (Stint between being rehired by Sweeney's Jewelers)

Supervise 4 retail jewelry stores for independent owner. Ground level openings
and hiring of Managers and support staff. Attended all major buying trips
including overseas accounts for loose diamonds. Had extensive influence on
credit approval guidelines and P&L. Daily cash reports and personal banking
involved. Negotiated rental property in shopping centers and contract
agreements. Approved and selected sales goals and incentive program.
Purchasing: Attending trade shows and evaluating cost of goods or services
through the process of popularity and quality of the items and the ability to move
the product. Attended trade showings in Dallas, Los Angeles and Miami.
Procurement specialist technics taught me a lot about managing and having a
successful business. Knowing the right people in our business and using them to
remain cost affective. I learned a lot by pursuing the purchasing aspect of retail,
and a lot of life's lessons.

*** Owner had no retail experience and had no reference on what it takes to run a
retail business. He actually inherited the business from his son, which I knew
personally. He really didn't want the business. He owned nursing homes. So
understand why he wouldn't let it work.

Worked on washer,dryers,refrigerators,stoves(gas and electric) and all types of
appliances.. Spent two years with Ward's Co. until we were told the Alexandria
store would be closing. They gave us no definate date. I persured other
employment immediately.
Reason for leaving: Store finally closed.
Summary: Due to the lack of sales/management or coordinator positions available
in the Alexandria area, I have been involved in the transportation industry for
some time. I wish to return to the Management/Coordinator postion with the right
company. I am literate with computer technology knowledge and experienced in
