Responsibilities: I worked in the control center which includes but not limited to the following: Operating a two-way

radio to communicate with staff; working closely with administration keeping them apprised of all relevant

information such as parent visitation, medicine drop-offs, phone calls, residents being released, new resident arrivals,

residents being released, through remote access monitoring traffic such as police, sheriffs, Federal Bureau of

current residents, their county, level, allergies, behavioral issues, whether they have items in the lock box,

documentation of self –limited, limited, or no activities due to medical concerns as determined by the supervisor, nurse

or doctor, recording maysi dates and number of current beds available. I was responsible for completing work orders

for maintenance of the facility. I ensured that resident phone calls were attempted or actual calls were made to parents

or relatives. I was responsible for providing a second set of eyes to officers on the floor and communicating any

necessary information.

I worked the floor in both Detention and Sanctions programs providing supervision of residents in the classroom. I

was responsible for giving the Slossans Oral Reading Test, teaching life skills, and other classroom subjects and for

giving maysis. I was responsible for implementing discipline, assigning wing time, implementing judges orders, and

for the documentation of residents behavior during the shift. I was responsible for female residents receiving showers

and that all items are accounted for. I was responsible for monitoring the residents behavior during the shift consisting

of mealtime, exercise, cleaning activities, drug screening, television and game time. I was responsible for

implementing 15 minute bed checks after residents were locked down. I was responsible for ensuring room searches

were completed. I was responsible for new intakes and releases. During a code red I was responsible for securing

residents in their cells, I was responsible for assisting a team of officers in a takedown when necessary, and for writing

a report for the Judge regarding the incident.
