Looking to apply and expand my Procurement experience with a viable company in the Kansas City area.

During my 13 years as Senior Strategic Buyer for Hallmark Cards, within the Fixture Merchandising

arena, I focused on delivering value/reducing cost, based on Total Cost of Ownership. My best cost

savings year was ’07 where I logged approx. $6 Million in year over year savings. Over-all spend varied

between $30 Million to $50 Million+ within categories of metal, plastic, wood, corrugate displays, and

miscellaneous merchandising components across 70+ suppliers.

A leader in the Social Expression Industry, Hallmark produces and/or sells greeting cards, gift wrap, and a

variety of gifts. The Fixture/Merchandising Group designed and produced/purchased custom fixtures that

support and display these products in approx. 43,000 retail outlets.

Senior Strategic Buyer 2001 – 2014

• Developed working, strategic buying plans to maximize cost savings while minimizing risk

• Often leveraged supplier relationships to expedite delivery for urgent programs

• Oversaw the work of 3 specialists that supported me with my categories

• Sourced new suppliers as needed, domestic and off-shore, often within very tight time frames

• Leveraged our Hong Kong office to maximize cost efficiency. Duel sourced many items. Toured

many factories in China between 2006 and 2008 (4 trips)

• Managed relationships with key suppliers. Documented and tracked supplier

objectives/performance.

OEP Scheduling Controller 1996 – 2001: Forecasted paper stock usage for paper buyers utilizing a

newly developed system which resulted in reducing paper stock inventories by approx. $5 Mil.

Senior Production Planner 1988 – 1996: Drew layouts and established production routings for greeting

cards as well as Specialty products utilizing a multiplatform system (Mate/layout/route).

Printing Supervisor/Production control Supervisor/press operator/warehouseman/stock handler 1977 –

1988.
