Content Based Search and Retrieval of Files in Peer To Peer Networks
Language Used: C#.net, MYSQL
Tool Used: Visual Studio 2012
Description:
The emerging Peer-to-Peer (P2P) model has become a very powerful and attractive paradigm for developing
Internet-scale systems for sharing resources, including files and documents. The distributed nature of these systems,
where nodes are typically located across different networks and domains, inherently hinders the efficient retrieval of
information. In this project an application is created for searching and retrieval of file from peer systems in an
unstructured peer to peer network. The content based search is nothing but the search based on files’ format and the
content of the files. In order to improve the speed and efficiency Intelligent Search Mechanism and Local
information retrieval engine is used. Each peer node stores locally its own data, query h it details and performs the
search and retrieval functions.
Human Computer Interaction by Hand Gesture Recognition Using Kinect Sensor
Language Used: C#.net
Tool Used: Visual Studio 2012
Description:
The recently developed depth sensors, for e.g., the Kinect sensor, have provided new opportunities for
human-computer interaction (HCI). Although great progress has been made by leveraging the Kinect sensor, e.g.,
in human body tracking, face recognition and human action recognition, robust hand gesture recognition remains an
open problem. Compared to the entire human body, the hand is a smaller object with more complex articulations and
more easily affected by segmentation errors. It is thus a very challen ging problem to recognize hand gestures.
Building a robust part-based hand gesture recognition system using Kinect sensor is focused. As it only matches the
finger parts while not the whole hand, it can better distinguish the hand gestures of slight differ ences. The extensive
experiments demonstrate that our hand gesture recognition system is accurate, efficient robust to hand articulations,
distortions and orientation or scale changes, and can work in uncontrolled environments (cluttered backgrounds and
lighting conditions). The superiority of our system is further demonstrated in a real -life HCI application. The power
point presentation control and mouse control are carried through hand gesture.
Character Detection and Recognition in Videos
Language Used: C#.net, SQL Server 2005
Tool Used: Visual Studio 2012
Description:
In this project, annotating characters in the movie and TVs, which is focused, called movie character
identification. The objective is to identify the faces of the characters in the video and label them with the corresponding
names in the cast. The textual cues, like cast lists, scripts, subtitles and closed captions are usually exploited. In a
movie, characters are the focus center of interests for the audience. Their occurrences provide lots of clues about the
movie structure and content. Automatic character identification is essential for semantic movie index and retrieval,
scene segmentation, summarization and other applications.
