Projects
United Way of Delaware County Spatial Needs Assessment
? Through a partnership with Ball State University, used a
spatial analysis to help to identify a best fit location for
families in need of reduced-fee health care clinics. Also, provided
a spatial assessment of Delaware County School Lunch "Free Lunch"
program, covering seven school systems in Muncie, IN.
? Maintained and organized a group effort to collect, analyze,
and geoprocess GIS data.
? Geocoded addresses and created metadata used to implement
spatial representation of data.
? Defined demographics data, compared and contrasted over a
decade to determine merit of Delaware County and United Way goals.
? Met crucial timelines and presented final information to
Muncie, IN business leaders and colleagues.
White River Stream Bank Analysis
? Used GPS software to map current stream bank locations.
? Using previous shapefiles of the stream, compared degradation,
erosion, and variance in stream path.
? Created metadata to provide analysis of relevant findings.
Historical Downtown Muncie, IN Housing Assessment
? Using geolocated addresses, mapped historical downtown Muncie,
IN neighborhood.
? Inspected, photographed, and ranked houses based on living
conditions and specific construction needs necessary to restore.
? Presented data, spatial assessment, and project needs to
Muncie, IN development coordinators.

Accomplishments
Product Development
? BOM Optimization Application Tool: Assisted in designing a
Microsoft Access created application using a heuristic model to
automatically specificy optimum materials for new products based on
customer specified requirements. Application is now the basis for
new business quoting, material specifications, and product building
in ERP system. This tool has drastically reduced errors in improper
material specification.
Operations Efficiency and Output Development
? Production Application Tool: Designed a Microsoft Excel based
application to automate the tracking of efficiency and output of
each employee in work cells. Application creates a fair environment
for grading operator development per each different product type.
Application is now the base tool for Shawmut Clinton production
supervisors to track employee development in each work cell. This
tool has drastically increased ability to make operational decisions
based on employee performance levels and where additional support is
needed.
Applications Engineering
? 2014 Mercedes C-Class Launch (Synthetic Leather Seating):
Program is the first production of C-Class in North America. Took
lead on collecting critical data necessary to prove product could
meet customer specifications. Performed capability analysis on
significant characteristics for each trial to ensure that product is
capable in a production environment. Organized a formalized testing
plan to correctly capture all product specifications necessary per
customer required test methods. Tackled early launch processing and
containment issues.

Automotive Production Supervisor
? Developed vital leadership and decision-making skills.
? Responsible for hiring and development of personnel on 1st
shift operation comprising 40+ employees across 4 lamination
machines, 10 inspection lines, and 2 cut blanks lines.
? Promoted safety and quality, decrease scrap, increase
productivity, and eliminate waste.
? Carefully analyzed operator work methods in order to make
positive adjustments to reduce scrap time, causes of errors, and to
minimize any variability in processes.
? Developed Excel based application using macros to calculate
production totals to closely analyze associate performance.
Application used by management crew to identify opportunities for
improvement.
? Identified solution to critical product changeover times which
maximized efficiency by 10% in inspection department.
? Learned important lean, Kaizen, and 5S manufacturing
principles.
? Developed, managed, and executed 5S projects to update all shop
floor work cell documents, tool organization, and scrap locations.
This helped to limit unnecessary operator movements, increasing
their production by 5% per cell.
? Used systematic approach to develop and maximize efficiency of
daily supervisor routines. This created a more stable environment
for off-shift supervisors to manage in where they could put forth
extra focus on operator development.
September 2011 - June 2013 Shawmut Corporation - Clinton, TN
Program Launch Engineer
? Designed, managed, and executed the successful launch of 34 new
automotive programs in TN facility.
? Developed, planned, and administered data collection methods
and testing plans essential to the successful launch of highly
diverse new program platforms in TN facility.
? Used JMP statistical software to enter collected data and
calculate short and long term capabilities of newly launched
products. Process adjustments were made based on analyzed data.
? Constructed professional reports for upper management
containing results of program launch studies and recommendations for
any necessary process adjustments to address potential product
failures.
? Collected field data and determined solution to save in excess
of $170,000 annually for one program by reducing cut blank length to
minimize scrap.
? Created professional work constructions of machinery and plant
layouts using Adobe Illustrator and CAD.
