Project Profile at Agritech Ltd. Iskanderabad (Formerly Pak-American
Fertilizers):
Pak-American Fertilizers Ltd. (ISO-9001, 14000 and OHSAS 18001:2007
certified) was commissioned in 1998 by TOYO ENGINERING CORPORATION,
JAPAN with capacity of 650MTPD Ammonia and 1050MTPD Ammonia. The
capacity was later enhanced by 35% by Revamp in 2010.
Joined PAFL plant during erection, commissioning and start up under the
auspices of Toyo Engineering Corporation Japan. Performed installation,
commissioning, calibration, termination and loop checking of
instruments.
Erection, commissioning and startup of Boiler No.4: Led Instrument team
during erection, commissioning and startup of 30 T/h boilers. The boiler
was manufactured by HMC (Heavy Mechanical Complex).
Preparation, review and firm up of BED (Basic Engineering Design) & DED
(Detailed Engineering Design) through close coordination with Technical,
Chemical and Mechanical Teams for HPNG (High Pressure Natural Gas) Line.
The HPNG was aimed at bypassing Natural Gas Compressor. The compressor
would take Natural at 7Kgf/cm2 at suction and would provide it at 43
Kgf/cm2 at its discharge. The HPNG line would take Natural gas at
47Kgf/cm2 and deliver at controlled pressure of 43 kgf/cm2. All the
Engineering, Procurement and Construction of HPNG were done in-house.
Preparation, review and firm up of BED (Basic Engineering Design) & DED
(Detailed Engineering Design) through close coordination with Technical,
Chemical and Mechanical Teams for installation of Steam Turbines at five
crucial pumps of the plant. All the Engineering, Procurement and
Construction of HPNG were done in-house.
Commissioning of Polisher GE Fanuc PLC. Coordinated with vendor for
installation and commissioning of Water Treatment Polisher GE 90-30 PLC
with VersaMax I /Os.
Capacity Enhancement Project PACE 135: Leading role in PAFL capacity
Enhancement Project (PACE 135), the capacity has been increased to 1420
MTPD Urea. For this project, main licensing FEEP contractors are M/S
Johnson Matthey of UK for Ammonia Plant and M/S Stamicarbon of
Netherlands for Urea Plant (Urea plant previous process was TEC). Major
work in that project was composed of addition and deletion of instrument
and control system works. Checking of all base plant instruments and
control system equipment for new capacity. Purchasing of new instrument
and control equipment. Installation of three new MHI machines replacing
the old ones. Construction, commissioning and successful startup of
revamped plant.
DCS assessment for new I/Os for up gradation of current system.
Configuration of new control loops, logic building for new instruments,
configuration and installation of new FTAs and new I/O cards in CCR.
Fisher control Valves sizing and selection for new process conditions.
Procurement of new desuperheaters.
Procurement of field transmitters, vortex flow meters, orifice plates,
pressure transmitters.
BOQ of consumables and bulk material(tube & fitting, air piping &
fitting, steal conduit & fitting, cables and junction boxes etc)
Vendor documents and drawing checking and final approval on them for
manufacturing and for further submission to EPC contractor.
Technical review of P&IDs, instrument lists, instrument datasheets, loop
configuration diagrams, DCS/PLC I/O list received from EPC and FEEP
contractors.
Review of instrument requisition, installation hook-up and material to
order.
Review of isometrics by confirming all instruments, their mechanical
connection, sizes, end to end distance and straight run requirement etc.
Prepare engineering documents like Instrument master index, loop diagram
for DCS & ESD at ammonia and urea plant.
Planning of job for construction and made bid for
construction/installation activities of instruments and bulk material.
Review of job progress and cost reports regarding construction
activities and ensure the execution of jobs according to plan.
Contribute to the development of the plans, schedules and estimation of
work scope by site survey.
Ensure that all Instrument activities are carried out according to
consideration to the HSE.
Installation and testing of new Woodward 505 enhanced redundant governor

Generator Package (Toshiba Turbines), Chemical Dosing system, Water
Treatment System, Waste Water Treatment System, Intake Facility and
De-nox system. Procured CEMS, Level transmitters, Level Switches, Level
Gauges, Pressure Safety & Relief Valves and Pressure Regulators.
