Certification, Created an improved certification process for
Korean Certifications (KC Mark) that was faster.
Nov. 2004 to May 2011: SeaChange International, Greenville, NH
Hardware Engineer II / Compliance Engineer
Project/Product Engineer for computer servers and storage systems.
I've performed extensive electro mechanical packaging of server and
storage chassis. Racking management with value added designs for cable
management. Additional tasks included power management and thermal
tests and record generation. Quality tested RAID controllers,
Ethernet, hard drives, memory, power supplies, and cooling components.
Responsible for Bill of Materials, detailed drawing schematics,
operation and installation documentation. EMC/EMI control designs.
* Accomplishments: Authored work processes for Manufacturing
resulting in time and cost savings; Created and managed
corporate Regulatory site; Developed new processes for
regulatory cost/time savings; Product labeling savings ($23K
+); Designed cables and power harnesses; Server and Rack
value-added designs of sheet metal parts. Aided in the
designs and development of video servers and storage
June 2004 to Nov.2004: Xinetics Inc., Devens, MA
Automation Engineer
Design precision mirror measuring station for plated or mirror surfaces
accuracy to +/-1 arc second for mirror measurement application. Produced
cost-effective designs to keep project within budgets and adhere to
deadlines. Extensive stepper motors, precision linear translation stages,
encoders, and power and data system wiring knowledge.
Accomplishments: Managed the design and build of complex
multi-axis mirror/lens measuring system for aerospace
applications. (SolidWorks)
Jan 2003 to June 2004: McPherson Instruments, Chelmsford, MA
Mechanical Engineer
Aided in design, build and test equipment for the E Beam/ Synchrotron
Industry which included developing vacuum chambers, grating and
aperture assemblies, and test instrumentation installations. My
duties included engineering support by means of test setups and
documentation, mechanical packaging designs for electronic
controllers.
* Accomplishments: Developed process for micro-lapping slit
jaws used in Synchrotron instrumentation.
Nov 2001 to Jan2003: SSG (Space Satellite Group) Inc., Wilmington, MA
Systems Engineer
I aided in the design and fabrication and packaging of high quality
non contact laser measuring device for NASA and the aerospace
industry. Responsibilities included the assembly of precision
optical/stepper stages, (linear rail assembly, optical encoders) and
laser alignments. I was responsible for system documentation,
improving production processes and spearheaded efforts to promote cost
savings for new and existing products.
Product packaging designs and rework. Tasked with electrical system
designs and documentation creation.
* Accomplishments: Designed and developed system electrical
harnesses for quality and consistency. Developed more
efficient alignment processes for optical encoder alignments;
Developed process for optical stages builds; Designed and
developed new mold for mirror RTV application. (SolidWorks,
