to day operations of the $1.5M automotive service and repair business, from production, budgeting, and

financial management to vendor procurement and marketing.

• Stepped in to turn around the business in 2010 following a period of operating loses under previous

leadership. In three years, delivered 20% annual profits and reduced debt load by 50%+

• Developed a testing program for new engines, providing the ability to quantify the impact of system

changes and accurately evaluate/validate performance increases.

• Innovate new production methods, enhance current production deficiencies, and introduce new

production technologies.

identified high failure rates with a parts manufacturer’s product and collaborated with the companies

Owner/ Team Engineer 1997 – 2010

Serve as a race team consultant and expert legal witness. Supervise all aspects of race car construction

and preparation for NASCAR competitions. Manage vehicle design, race team logistics, budgets, and

sponsor procurement.

• Engineered all aspects of chassis and race car build out – including fluid transfer systems, electrical,

brake, driver ergonomics, driver safety, aerodynamics, suspension dynamics – driving all systems to

perform near service limit while minimizing weight and expense.

• Provided Zack Ralston Racing with budget and performance maximization strategies. as well as

dramatic, low cost performance gains, in support of the team’s ARCA Series efforts at Kansas City

Speedway.

• Enhanced on-track performance of a client’s race car by leading an overhaul of the equipment,

including improving aerodynamics, wiring, braking, and suspension, as well as by providing

suspension analysis and race day support.

Installation Technician (Project-based) 2005-2012

Developed and installed electrical systems for residential and large commercial projects, including

primary service, individual room electrical and lighting, specialty lighting boards, and IT cabling.

• Designed and installed electrical and lighting for a 25K sq. ft. building addition. Delivered the

complex project on time and on budget despite labor shortfalls.

• Partnered with residents and volunteers to replace residential electrical systems following the 2008

Cedar Rapids flood.
