RELEVANT COURSE WORK/ PROJECTS
• Fall 2014
o Senior design project. Worked with Southeastern Pneumatic Inc., alongside a group of 7 other students. Delivered an excel based
ordering tool to the client, which decreased ordering time from 2 hours to 45 minutes. Utilized the client’s database system to
develop demand, lead time, and seasonality estimates. Led and developed presentations to the client and members of the faculty.
Implemented policies that will decrease inventory costs by ~$84,000/year.
• Spring 2014
o Developed a fully functioning database management system in which hypothetical doctors and patients could create user profiles,
look up doctor ratings, schedule appointments and look up prescriptions as well as a host of other functions
• Fall 2013
o Proposed a new textbook supply chain to cut down costs of textbooks, using industrial engineering techniques such as batching,
cutting down the “bullwhip effect” of the textbook industry, and better demand forecasting
• Fall 2013
o Investigated the impact and supposed benefit to society that the Tesla car company offered by quantifying the amount of money
saved by the lack of CO2 emissions from the car, the superior safety rating of Tesla vehicles, and the impact of the electricity
needed to run a Tesla vehicle
• Spring 2013
o
Designated a new distribution center for a hypothetical shoe company, using demand data, looking up transportation costs and
methods (railroad, LTL vs. TL, etc…), calculating expected operating costs, and developing a weighting system to quantify
standard of living for prospective DC locations
