ACHIEVEMENTS

Program Management – Developed in-patient workflows for 3 DoD hospitals through collaboration with

clinical department heads. Results: The conclusions served as reference for EHR system

implementation.

Implemented EHR Software – EHR application for in-patient services and supervised all areas of training

pre and post-deployment at a DoD Medical facility. Results: Created accounts of 2600+ end-users,

including providers, nurses and ancillary support. Developed and supervised CPOE processes.

Strategic Planning and Implementation – Spearheaded, implemented a mobile dental screening unit for

a primary health clinic, directed to elementary schools encompassing 6 Zip codes areas of influence

including 8 elementary schools. Results: 300 students with dental insurance who were in need

of immediate dental care identified. Client loyalty noted a year later since 40% continued to receive

dental care. Program still active after 10 years.

Cross Functional Training – Designed and established a provider satisfaction protocol to channel

feedback that increased provider retention in the areas of Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia, Tennessee and

Kentucky for a company contracted to perform government compensation and pension

evaluations. Results: Reduced turnover of providers from 25 to 10%.

Process Improvement – Developed a comprehensive bilingual primary health education (including dental)

program for primary care clinic. Results: Program was utilized to serve 17K patients/year. Results:

Served 80 % of Hispanic ascendance, 50% Spanish speaking only.

QA/QC – Devised and instituted a quality assurance process for a Home health agency integrating

indicators used by Medicare/Medicaid. Results: Agency, under scrutiny, passed Medicare/Medicaid

audit.

Organizational Leadership – Recruited, trained 3 teams of 15 to take charge of a chapter of an

international organization dedicated to promote health, survival skills, personal development, community

service and leadership among teens. Results: Process was repeated in Peru, Mexico and United States and

has been successful in influencing 100’s.

Project Manager – Managed the implementation and deployment (and translation to Spanish) of a Health

Risk Assessment program to 7 DSHS clinics for Texas Department of Health. That targeted chronic

degenerative diseases; lung, breast and cervix cancer. Results: The identification of at risk population

increased 20% during trial period at the 7 clinics.

Budget Administration/ Negotiations – Negotiated 500+ free glucometers for a diabetes prevention

and control program through direct contact with pharmaceutical agent (s) in an exchange project. Results:

Reduced budget expenditure by 30% and benefited 500+ patients.

Bilingual Public Speaker – Promoted health, spiritual development and community service to Spanish and

English speaking audiences through radio and personal appearances for the last 20+ years on monthly
