OBJECTIVE
My objective is to work on CAD that are reasonably challenging and rewarding. I am an Intermediate
level Solidworks, Inventor and Revit user. I would love to expand on that.
HIGHLIGHTS & QUALIFICATIONS
• Very good Mechanical and Architectural Drafting skills in Solidworks, Inventor, Revit, and
Autocad
• Inherent mechanical aptitude – I understand not only how things work but also why
• Excellent eye for detail
• Excellent teacher/mentor, patient and effective when working with a wide range of personalities
• Successful in comprehending and using new systems and methods and applying them to the
project at hand
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
CAD Design
• Intermediate to Advanced level CAD user in Solidworks, Autodesk Inventor
• Advanced level skills in Autodesk Revit Architecture
• Some AutoCad skills (Beginner to intermediate, I prefer Parametric modeling.)
• Familiar with MS Office software programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Skilled in internet research and sourcing for products, information, pricing, etc.
Systems Knowledge
• My previous positions required knowledge of tolerances and interferences, which made CAD
attractive and easy for me to understand
• I understand automotive electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems (including HVAC), which
translates well to building and mechanical systems
• Familiar with wood frame construction methods and manuals, including high-wind and green
engineering
• High interest in 3D modeling and BIM (I love this stuff!)
Problem Solving
• I have invented and manufactured my own special tools to complete repairs on vehicles where
either the proper tool was not available or did not exist – many of which are still in use
• I have performed patent research to determine whether my tools were patentable (or in violation
of existing patents)
• I have sourced numerous job shops to create parts needed to manufacture my tools
• I am very experienced in prioritizing my time to meet deadlines, milestones, and last-minute
emergencies
• I will research tenaciously if I do not know an answer to a question or problem
Mentoring/Supervising
• As an ASE Master Technician, I’ve trained numerous B, C, and D-Level automotive technicians
in the science of diagnostics and repairs for all makes and models of vehicles
• As an A+ Certified Technician and manager of a busy computer repair department for a big-box
retailer, I trained junior, entry-level trainees on all aspects of PC and printer diagnostics and
repair
• My strength as a mentor is in my ability to be patient, understanding, thorough, and to explain
principles and process in terms that everyone can understand
• In my free time, I participate in numerous online forums giving free automotive advice and
helping average car owners navigate the world of automotive repair
