Automotive Axles Limited is a joint venture of Kalyani group and Meritor (USA) established in 1981. Built on a 30-year

tradition of quality and service we are premier independent manufacturer of rear drive axle assemblies in the country. The

infrastructure at AAL consists of specialized high volume manufacturing lines for Axles and Brakes. AAL has ISO/TS

16949:2009 and ISO 14001:2004 certifications. AAL has developed an impressive domestic OEM clientele that includes

Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors, Asia Motor Works, Vehicle Factory-Jabalpur, BEML, Man Force Trucks Pvt. Ltd., Mahindra

Navistar, Volvo India and SML Isuzu Ltd.

Work Measurement:

Conducted Time Study and established standards for around 150 to 200 operations and signed off by

Operators & Union committee.

Projects Involved:

I. OEE – Overall Equipment Effectiveness in finding out Root causes for the failure.

II. BIQ – Built In Quality system in sustaining the defined Quality of the system.

III. Score 100 - In Cost Reduction Project in Heat Treatment (BGL Furnace) through Cycle Time Analysis – thereby

doing the Annual Net Saving of 10.1 lakhs

IV. Layout of Brakes plant – In increasing the productivity by establishing the re layout.

V. Multi machine Manning – In reducing man position by plotting Multimanning interference graph.

VI. Ring & cover weld – In increasing the productivity by 25% by implementation of 2mm weld wire replacing

1.6mm wire.

VII. Line Balancing Concept – In eliminating Bottleneck Operations & Takt time.

ACADEMIC PROJECT

• Process Optimization – AUTOLAYER NAMING of PCB layers at WUERTH ELEKTRONIK PVT LTD,

MYSORE.

The main objective of auto layer naming is to increase the productivity to 1job/hr. This project is also

aimed to reduce the time consumed during the conversion of customer given layer names to the Wuerth

standards and reducing the steps involved in the designing process. It also aims at reducing the manual method.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

• Won “STAR OF INDIA” award twice - the most prestigious individual award for ball badminton in India

in National level Tournaments.

• Won 54th National Level Ball Badminton Championship held at Chandigarh, Delhi in 2008-09 and runner-

up in 52nd and 53rd National Level Ball Badminton Championships held at Dhule, Maharashtra in 2006-07

and Guntur, AP in 2007-08 respectively.

• Represented VTU Belgaum Ball badminton team in the All India Inter University Championship held at

Chennai, in 2008-09 and twice at Mangalore in 2009-10 and 2011-12.

• Won the VTU Ball Badminton Zonals Tournament held at BIET, Davanagere in 2009-10.

• Presided as the Chief Guest for the Annual Day Sports Meet at Acharya Vidya Kula School, Mysore &

at Sarada Vilas Educational Institution, Mysore in 2009 & 2014 respectively.
