More than 26 years of consulting experience in the United States and Canada serving oil
and gas, mining, transportation, public and private sector clients.
Operations Management: Two years’ experience as Operations Manager of a
consulting engineering office providing services for transportation, municipal, public and
private sector clients. Provided senior leadership for up to 55 technical professionals
and support staff providing civil, geotechnical, environmental and material testing and
inspection services within Nevada and northern California. Responsibilities include
safety, financial management, contracting, quality control, peer review, business
development, staffing, mentoring and physical facilities.
Geotechnical Group Management: Twelve years’ experience as Geotechnical Group
Manager overseeing the geotechnical services in the Nevada service area for a
geotechnical/geologic staff of up to seven professionals and materials testing laboratory.
Coordinated with the geotechnical, environmental and civil disciplines within Canada and
the US. Responsible for business development, technical quality, staffing, mentorship,
and senior peer review of all geotechnical services.
Project Management: Project Manager for more than 500 projects ranging in value
from $2,500 to well over $1 million. Responsible for preparation of proposals, cost
estimates, contracting, client management, staffing, engineering analyses, peer review
and financial performance.
Geotechnical Engineering: More than 21 years’ experience for more than 500 small to
very large residential, mining, commercial and public developments involving the
preparation of geotechnical recommendations for shallow and deep foundations, slopes,
retaining structures, earth dams, waste dumps, leach pads, ponds and roads.
Conducted geotechnical studies in a wide range of geologic settings including cold
regions, wetland (muskeg), steep terrain, desert, high seismic and remote environments
involving the evaluation of liquefaction, seismicity, slope stability and moisture sensitivity.
Permitting and Regulatory Compliance: Six years’ experience preparing applications
for various regulatory agencies, including Water Pollution Control Permits, Storm Water
Pollution Prevention Plans, Mining Operation and Closure Plans and Spill Prevention
Plans.
