Following are the business steps involved in SIO
* Creating Sales Opportunity
When the sales persons find a business opportunity with a customer, they
create a business opportunity stating its nature, expected value and
probability of conversion to a contract. This opportunity is then discussed
with the acceptance team in the bi weekly meetings.
* Get acceptance by the Acceptance team: If the acceptance team, which is
made of people termed as core3 concludes that this opportunity is worth
pursuing, the opportunity is updated as ongoing and resources are allocated
for the same. The core3 consists of sales, solution and implementation
people.
* Submit the decision document: The decision document is uploaded to the
system.
* Start updating the opportunity with any new information obtained: As the
time progresses, the team working on the opportunity can then update the
status of it on a daily basis and their managers can keep track of the
activities.
* Preparation of Sales Proposal: Once there is agreement between the sales
team and the customer, a proposal is prepared.
* Get acceptance: The proposal is accepted by the core3 team
* Negotiation: Then the contract is negotiated with the customer.
* Contract handshake: Contract is signed off.

Description :
This is an enhanced Business Portal built on Three-tier architecture, which
helps enabling e-procurement for the hotel Industry. The users of this site
are the Buyer, Supplier, Visitor and the Admin. The Main user's i.e. the
Buyers and the suppliers register themselves in the system for doing
business. The Main trading includes an area where purchases are done on a
daily basis termed as "Market List" for which suppliers customize their
list of Items they can supply and specify the prices for each item. They
can also specify which buyers they want to supply to and which they don't
want to supply. The Buyers are Star Hotels of Bangkok, who purchase from
these suppliers on a daily basis. They also customize their list, which
includes their favorite supplier's prices as well as other supplier's
prices for each item. The purchase orders are raised by uploading an excel
sheet which consists of the items they want to Purchase. Net connection is
not required for the full time of purchase thus reducing net time and cost.
Study revealed that 40% of the time required for purchasing was reduced for
the hotels by using this system. More over the system keeps track of the
purchasing mechanism and helps avoid any type of biasing towards specific
suppliers, as the complete purchase flow is available to the higher
authorities. Apart from "Market List" the buyers can also purchase by
asking for bids from the suppliers for some items. The Systems
automatically filters and sends the "RFQ" for only those suppliers who
supply the Queried Item. Thus avoiding unnecessary Bids. Other area of
business includes E-Catalogs and Requisition Lists.
With a turn around of around 400 million Bahts/annum this is one of the
most successful B2B trading site in Bangkok.
