WORKING EXPERIENCE:
Rhodia Inc., Member of the Solvay Group May, 2013 – August 2013
Engineering Intern
• Responsible for compiling as-built specifications, extracted from P&ID’s and engineering drawings, on all major
equipment of the company’s six sulfuric acid regeneration plants. This equipment summary serves as an easy
reference for the Rhodia Tech group members.
• Gained knowledge on different acid plant operations by working and interfacing with operations, maintenance, and
engineering departmental personnel at the Martinez, Dominguez, and Baton Rouge Plants.
• Performed ammonia/caustic usage analysis to identify possible waste and inefficiencies. The study resulted in
significant reduction in variable cost for the company.
• Analyzed data on Root Cause Failure Reports in identifying areas of improvement to either eliminate or shorten
common plant shutdowns.
University of California, San Francisco Mission Bay Campus
Lab Research Associate December, 2009 - June 2012
• Proficiently performed various experiments using a wide range of laboratory techniques on discovering previously
unknown cell signaling pathways in kidney cells.
• Effectively maintained and kept detailed notes, gave monthly presentations on the progress of work.
• Accurately analyzed and interpreted data in order to devise and implement further research methods.
• Publication in The Journal of Biological Chemistry and National Institutes of Health
o Contributing author of the Scaffold protein Connector-Enhancer- of-Kinase-Suppressor-of-Ras isoform-3 (CNK3)
coordinates assembly of a multi-protein Epithelial Sodium Channel (ENaC)-regulatory complex.
