TITLE:
POWER
GENERATION
BY
USING
WINDMILL
WITH
THE
REDUCED
GEAR
SYSTEM
COURSE:
B.E
(Mechanical
Engineering)
KEY
ACHIEVEMENT:
In
this
project,
an
optimum
output
of
electricity
is
achieved
by
changing
the
windmill
gear
ratio
from
1:4
to
1:8.
So
that
the
present
system
will
achieve
a
maximum
output
of
electrical
energy
when
compared
to
the
existing
windmill
gear
system.

SURFACE
FINISHING
COURSE:
B.E
(Mechanical
Engineering)
KEY
ACHIEVEMENT:
This
project
is
about
designing
a
lapping
machine,
which
in
itself
is
a
very
challenging
factor,
which
deals
with
a
purposeful
activity
directed
forward
to
the
fulfilment
of
human
and
industrial
needs.
Through
the
complete
pilot
study
at
Bharat
Heavy
Electricals
Limited,
Trichy,
India.
Right
now
they
are
using
a
Manual
Lapping
Plate
for
lapping
the
seat
area
of
nozzle,
which
is
one
of
the
main
components
of
Safety
Relief
Valve.
We
have
introduced
a
Lapping
Machine,
which
is
called
a
semi
auto
machine
for
improving
productivity
and
also
this
project
includes
achieving
surface
finish
for
various
materials
such
as
Mild
steel
and
Stainless
steel.
TITLE:
PUNCH
DESIGN
FOR
PHARMACEUTICAL
POWDER
COMPACTION
COURSE:
MS
(Advanced
Materials
Engineering)
KEY
ACHIEVEMENT:
This
is
a
Finite
Element
Analysis
project.
Pharmaceutical
punch
tool
was
designed
using
SOLIDWORKS
and
stress
analyses
were
calculated
for
non-
uniform
pressure
distribution
through
simulation
software
(COMSOL)
and
thus
results
were
compared
between
uniform
and
non-
uniform
pressure
distribution
on
the
punch
face.
The
punch
was
embossed
with
letter
and
number
to
study
the
features
of
characters
embossing
on
the
tablet
and
to
analyse
how
stress
is
been
distributed
when
the
uniform
and
non-
uniform
pressure
applied.
Finally,
results
were
compared
between
all
cases
and
studied
when
load
is
above
the
yield
strength
of
the
steel
tool;
a
non-
linear
stress
is
been
distributed
on
the
faces.
