If any secondgader at Birla Nidya Niketan, Pushp Vihar, had
used the slide in the junior school's play area on Monday, she
would've ended up straight in a puddle of sewage. The school was
shut on Tuesday as well because a block in the main sewe which
reportedly runs along the BRT is making its drains back up.
The school's been flooded since Satruday and this is the second
time holiday have been declared for unsanitary conditions this
year. Complaints have been made to Delhi Jal Board but nothing
has been done yet.
Sunday night's downpour not only washed out an art fair in
Talkatora Stadium but also left many artists with badly damaged
works.about 1,000 artists from Russia,Chaina,South Koria and
Inida were showing their work at the five days Alla Prima
International Art Fair that started on December 11. Many of
them complainted that rainwater seeped into the exhibition
hall that did not have proper drainage and works valued crores
of rupees weredamaed.Nand Kisahor Sharma a painter from
Rajasthan, had paid 42,000 to participate in the fair but he
went back counting losses,"There was no proper drainage water
seeped in and all my priceless work was damaged,People had paid
to participate in this fair."
