A Non-Profit organization raising money for Alzheimer's disease research

Vice President

Serves as the lead executive to set fundraising goals, develop donor

strategies, directs solicitations for major gifts, writes compelling

proposals, maintains and cultivates sponsorships to help Alzheimer's

patients and their families by raising funds for Alzheimer's research,

providing educational programs and public support.

Overview: Responsible for foundation's programs, donation solicitations,

fundraising campaigns, grant managing, websites, social networking, cross

promotions, advertising, marketing, branding, planning, public awareness,

Preserving Your Memory magazine, and budget. Manages the Development

Coordinator, Webmaster, Graphic Designer, Office Manager, and Database

Engineer.

Initiatives include:

. Strategic Partnerships: Maintains and solicits high dollar donors to help

raise money for Nobel Prize winner Dr. Paul Greengard for his work to

find a cure for Alzheimer's disease; including: GE, Kirby Foundation,

MetLife Foundation, Pfizer, New York Department on Aging, American

Medical Association, Combined Federal Campaigns, and more. Secures

talent such as: Maria Shriver, Diane Keaton, Penny Marshall, etc.

. Fundraising: Works with the Board of Trustees and the Chief Executive

Officer to implement fundraising strategies. Personally raising 4MM in

2014 and assisting in managing a reserve of 22MM. Conceptualizes and

executes large and small fundraisers on and off line.

. Planning: Organizes, maintains, and distributes monthly calendars for

all staff members to track tasks and implement new and current business

developments.

. Branding/Key Messages: Creates the voice of the foundation. Obtains pro-

bono consultants and head Public Relations agencies to develop logos.

Facilitates and updates all key branding messages. Translates core

scientific information to everyday consumers.

. Budget Maintenance: Creates yearly budget of 6MM. Works with Chief

Finance Officer to track and evaluate all revues and expenses. Reports

to the Board of Directors with presentations four times a year.

. Communications: Responsible for all press releases, direct mail,

brochures, pamphlets, art work and graphics about the foundation to:

large donors, the public, other non profits organizations, the government

and the online community.

. Program Development: Develops concepts and secures funding from the

MetLife Foundation to create the quarterly publication, Preserving Your

Memory: the Magazine of Health and Hope; serves as creative team leader,

editor-in-chief, writer, ad sales, distribution and subscriptions

manager. Solicits yearly Google grants to increase Search Engine

Optimization for www.ALZinfo.org website. Maintains all site content,

member lists, communications, blogs, and donation appeals. Serves our

caregivers online with www.ALZTalk.org a web 2.0 social network, created

in house, and answers Ask the Expert entries.

Provided tactical strategies to create campaigns for non-profit fundraising

using research and analysis to determine pathways to increase funds through

corporate giving programs and foundation grants. Developed affiliate and

partnership relationships.

Overview: Recruited to increase scientific research funds through

development and marketing.

Initiatives included:

. Development: Created telephone campaigns. Solicited pro-bono

contractors to donate legal advice and a comprehensive public relations

campaign. Wrote advertisements for employee contribution programs.

. Marketing Strategy: Completed comprehensive marketing plan. Assessed

and analysis corporate giving programs to fund the non-profit. Presented

allocations to funds with a minimum cost and high return of income.

campaigns for writing workshops (both web-based and in-person) using direct

Managed budget and P&L. Developed and maintained partner and affiliate

relationships, including Barnes & Noble.

. Overview: Initially recruited to improve distribution for Gotham Writers'

and quickly earned promotion to oversee the organization's marketing.

Inherited department which lacked formal marketing plans or procedures,

and which had seen little change for a number of years. Implemented

product and marketing strategy that grew the business by 130% in 4 years.
