Developed operational protocols in order to streamline patient flow and to decrease
patient wait times.
Operational oversight for the Neurology Department comprised of 23 staff physicians, 9
residents, and 14 administrative staff members with an average annual patient volume of
12,000 encounters.
Managed departmental supply chain consisting of $375k for consumables and $2.5
million for equipment and service contracts.
Evaluation board member for Medical Services Directorate.
Collected and documented all staff training to meet hospital educational guidelines.
Achieved a 22% drop in patient wait times by adding an additional follow-up
appointment slot for each provider due to the improved efficiency of departmental
protocols.
Lead the departmental TJC preparation, which resulted in zero discrepancies found
during the Joint Commission survey of 2012.

department consisting of 143 personnel.
Directorate Supply Chain Officer maintaining an annual budget of $1.7 million for
supplies and over $6 million in equipment and service contracts.
Conducted quarterly safety and compliance inspections in accordance with The Joint
Commission guidelines.
Maintained a rigid schedule for provider Quality Assurance in accordance with hospital
policy.
Systematized the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to improve the transfer flow
between personnel in varying departments within the directorate.
Cross-trained junior enlisted personnel in emergency medical technician (EMT) and
emergency medicine procedures to alleviate call/rotational assignments of the Emergency
Department staff. This facilitated personnel continuity for the Emergency Department
when staffing fell below recommended levels.
Lead the preparation for JCAHO survey, resulting in zero JCHAO discrepancies for the
entire Medical Services Directorate.

Managed the neurology practice that consisted of 8 providers and 12 administrative staff
with an annual volume of 4800 patient encounters.
Maintained an annual budget of $134K for patient care supplies and $1.1 million for
equipment and service contracts.
Designated as the Joint Commission Tracer Team member performing mock surveys in
preparation for future Joint Commission surveys. This directly attributed to the marginal
amount of discrepancies found during the survey.
Created a SharePoint Infusion calendar for multiple sclerosis patients in order to
streamline the administrative processes for infusion patients. Patient wait times and
identification errors decreased as a result of this calendar.

Directly supervised three personnel in maintaining approximately 5,000 health records
for both active duty and dependents (civilians) stationed on Marine Corps Base Camp
Foster.
Increased overall medical readiness from 42% to 98% for service members, which
ensured they were fully medically ready and world-wide deployable.
Held mass vaccination evolutions that saw over 5,000 active duty and civilian personnel
receive necessary vaccinations.
Led in-service training for battalion medical personnel in other companies on the Navy’s
policies on health record maintenance. This allowed for other companies to become
autonomous in their own overall medical readiness.
