Responsibilities:
• Complete the required documentation on all work performed including
service history tracking on all underground mobile equipment.
• Formulation of corrective action and preventive action to mitigate
breakdown on underground trackless equipment.
• Ensure that shift crew carries out preventive services at given periods of
time. During servicing, thorough checks are done for defects parts by mounting
drive line, greasing, replacing clogged filters, check brake system, measuring and
adjusting valves clearances, check and gather hoses, check a fault lights and
replace malfunctioning bulbs, checks drive belts and hydraulic pressure.
• Identifying malfunction and troubleshooting major breakdowns, diagnosing using
visual inspections, diagnostic data reading and measuring components against
manufacturer tolerances to rectify problem.
• On power shift transmissions, Ensure that work crew check pump drive and
main drive shaft, spiders, hoses and operation through timing of operation against
manufacturers specifications.
• Interact with purchasing and stores to ensure that the requisite parts are
delivered on time to accomplish work within the expected time frame.
• Supervise work crew to carry out component change outs, such as
engines, torque converters, transmissions, differential assembly, wheel stations,
hoist cylinders, steering cylinders, hydraulic control blocks, track frames, pumps,
cylinder head gasket, bucket pins.
• Coach and give direction to work crew when they are facing a bigger
challenge in executing a new or difficult job.
