BOSS (Banking Online Support System) maintains Account information and Account
address information of customers of Bank of America. The project involves providing
system maintenance and System Enhancement to the changing requirements of BOSS
system. Each development or maintenance comes as separate initiatives in BOSS
application. All the modules that have been dealt in this project involves a special
software called HOGAN system apart from COBOL, IMS DB and IMS DC. .Any
interaction with the front end or database is done through Hogan system. BOSS maintains
the Address Information and Account Information using various online and batch
activities.
Responsibilities:
o Participating in the initial business requirement discussions to understand the
application impact
o Analyzing the client supplied business requirements and Design of the system
o Writing High Level and Low level Design documents for the given requirement for the
application
o Programming in COBOL, HOGAN and IMS DB using design specification.
o Preparing Unit and Component Integration test plans and scripts and Test Executions.
Test Management activities such as analyzing the defects, detecting the root cause and

o The approach is a systematic conversion, meaning the military DDA and SAV account
numbers will remain the same and conversion will occur systematically as a onetime
event.
o CD/IRA accounts will be systematically converted in a similar manner and the legacy
account numbers will be updated in target state.
o Debit cards will be converted from legacy platform to Model. Online Banking features
and functions will be converted.
o Participating in the initial business requirement discussions to understand the
application impact
o Writing High Level and Low level Design documents for the given requirement for the

Testing and Implementation phases
o Involved in preparing the technical design documents and carrying out walkthrough
meeting with the IT & Business managers.
o All the Hogan components had to be changed to achieve this. More than 400+
components were changed as part of this project
o Thorough testing of all online and batch components were performed
o Worked as Team lead with large team split across different locations and coordinating
with multiple teams including testing, business analysts and clients to deliver results as
expected.
o Preparing System test cases and performing UAT activities.
o Gathering Signoffs from Business.
