Overview
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is one of the largest independent
licensee of Blue Cross Blue Shield Association in the USA. A non-profit
organization, provides and administrates health benefits to more than 4.4
million members residing in Michigan in addition to Michigan-headquartered
groups who reside outside the state.
Ahmed was brought initially to act as a liaison between the Product
Development Department, and the Sales and Marketing Department. Therefore
Ahmed was assigned to fill a completely new and unique role in the
organization. Focusing on Medicare products in the senior market
department. Later on Ahmed role was shifted to rating and financial
analysis working with the underwriters and the actuarial teams supporting
new and existing business.
Working in the Federal Business Department, Ahmed's task was to drive
product related ideations and initiatives through to completion, by
providing guidance, assistance and coordination on all product activities
that support Individual senior market products. In additional to that Ahmed
was appointed to determine rates for new business and prepare the financial
arrangements for large and moderate complex groups, while investigates,
resolves and responds to complex inquiries and account issues, consults on
financial and other aspects of group accounts to maintain customer
confidence as it impacts decisions on retention and benefit changes.

Overview
Batelco was the monopoly provider in the Kingdom, and has decided to enter
into the Global IP VPN market in order to diversify its business and grow
further beyond the market of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The combination of standalone, bundled, discounted and loyalty based
product packages has created a highly complex and competitive market since
the penetration of several key players in the region into this market,
Batelco needed a compelling product proposition.
Ahmed was brought in to take over the product marketing of the Global
Datacom products set and create a competitive launch proposition through
several phases. This brief was extended to cover the product road map,
tariffing packages, business model and revenue assurance.
Ahmed's role included business modelling, product definition, competitive
positioning and market communications briefing

Overview
LSC was a partially owned subsidiary of France Telecom and was set up to
exploit opportunities in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Ahmed's initial role was
to technically set up and launch the ADSL platforms; followed by extending
his brief to include VOIP platform. His role reported directly to the
Technical Director since the company was newly launching its first product.
Due to the need for launch aggressively and rapidly into the Kingdom, Ahmed
was able to communicate closely with all departments and partially
participated overall product processes internally and externally.
Major Achievements: Successfully built and managed the technical team and
developed KPI standards, Successfully launched and delivered ADSL
(internet) services, Successfully launched and delivered VOIP (IP
Telephony) services, Successfully launched and delivered LLC and MPLS
(Datacom) services, Wrote Business Plan, Negotiated high level investment
and partnerships with third parties, Successfully planned and managed
several wired and wireless projects.
