RESUME
Duration : 6th Feb. 2014 – 18rd Feb. 2014.
About the Project:
Gas leaks can cause major incidents resulting in both human injuries and financial losses. To avoid such
situations, a considerable amount of effort has been devoted to the development of reliable techniques for
detecting gas leakage. This paper presents gas leakage detection in gas flow line using sensors. The
control of an induction motor is used as an example to demonstrate the effectiveness of this remote gas
leakage detection. A programmable logic controller (PLC) was programmed to control the operation of
the system and a SCADA system was installed to monitor and control of the leakage detection. The
remote gas leakage detection presented here offers an economical solution for many gas industries.
Additionally, the suggested architecture helps improve students' skills on SCADA systems in use in
industry.
