Experience

February 2013-May 2014

IRIC, Université de Montreal Montreal, QC

Research Associate

Worked in a project dealing with cell cycle to have a better understanding on targeting

cancerous cells. (Supervisors: Dr. Damien D’Amours and Dr. Vincent Archambault)

• Molecular cloning: inserting and mutating genes in vectors.

• Overexpressing/silencing MastL in Hela and U2OS cells (stable and transient

transfections). Stables were done by lentiviral production and transduction.

• FACS, immunofluorescence techniques.

• Manuscript writing, data collection and presentation.

February 2004 – Fall 2012

Montreal Children’s Hospital Research Institute Montreal, QC

PhD Student

Specialized in oncology - Worked on identifying potential therapeutic targets that were

specific to high grade pediatric astrocytomas. (Supervisor: Dr. Nada Jabado)

• Microarray analysis of pediatric astrocytoma samples: RNA, DNA, and protein

extraction from samples; sectioning frozen and FFPE slides; extracting cells using laser

capture micro-dissection; microarray slide perparation, hybridization and analysis

using genespring and ingenuity; RT-PCR and QRT-PCR.

• Focused on one gene over-expressed in pediatric glioblastoma: SNX3. Cell culture

work including over-expressing/silencing SNX3 in different glioblastoma cell lines

(stable and transient transfections). Effects of over-expressing and silencing of SNX3

were studied by several techniques, including: western blots; immunofluorescence

Hasan Uludag)

• Cell culture, DNA and protein quantification assays using Fluorescence spectrometry,

HPLC.

• Instrument trouble shooting, analysis and interpretation of data and ability to review

scientific literature.

• Book keeping, inventory and ordering of supplies in the lab.
