Engineering Projects
Mechanical Orbital Deployment Satellite (Senior Capstone Project: Detail) Spring 2014
- Team Lead of the 4 member Deployment Subsystem to Deploy 1U-3U CubeSats from an ISS like orbit. Developed
timeline, budget, and work hours corresponding to customer request an d presented material to faculty. Mathematical
analysis, applied analysis to physical build, and tested the analysis versus the final product.
Low Earth Orbit Debris Removal System (Senior Capstone Project: Prelim) Fall 2013
- Project Manager of 7 engineering students to design, analyze, and theoretically validate a LEO cleanup initiative.
- Team Lead for the Drag Enhancement subsystem that simulated electrodynamic tethers. Mathematically analyzed and
simulated Earth's magnetic field and developed the simulations to interact with the magnetic field and orbital
perturbations.
Balloon Cube Satellite (63k/90k ft altitude) Spring 2013
- Team Lead Visual data accumulation and internal component mounting for obtaining video of the flight and constant
data stream to the internal memory card.
