Key area of work: To provide HR technical expertise and execution of HR policies as driven by

Headquarters to the 13 Field Offices in India Country Office, including staff benefits and entitlements and

conditions of employment.

Assisted the HR Officer in the recruitment and selection of personnel for positions in Operational areas (e.g.

IT, Supply & Procurement, Fund Raising etc.) as well as the Thematic areas (e.g. Child Health, Nutrition,

Water & Sanitation, Education etc.). Duties and responsibilities detailed as follows:

Recruitment

- Responsible for planning and strategizing for all the recruitments while meeting the KPI (set by

Headquarter in New York).

- Maintain Recruitment Monitoring Tracker for a strategic view of India wide recruitments

- Responsible for maintaining Recruitment Data of India Country Office for submission to Regional Office

of South Asia on a quarterly basis and provide explanations.

- Multi channel sourcing by concentrated efforts on effective networking methods to reach the potential

candidates.

- Responsible for full lifecycle of recruitment, including advertising positions, screening resumes, short

listing, conducting technical tests and interviews.

- Represent HR on the Selection Panels and assuring quality interviews. Writing interview reports

- Organize Central Review Body (CRB) Meeting for approval of selection process by CRB panel.

- Offer letters and provide guidance to external candidates upon appointment.

- Conducting pre joining and on board formalities.

Employee Engagement:

- Single point of contact for all the Employee queries related to entitlements, HR policies.

- Assist International Professionals by briefing them on arrival, and also provide departure briefings in

case of reassignment to other location. Focal point for all administrative and logistics arrangements.

- Manage the exit process at the time of separation / natural separation including submission of separation

documents to Headquarters, New York etc.

- Provide guidance to the UNICEF retirees and necessary follow up with Headquarters.

September 1999 June 2011 as HR Manager (Operations): British High Commission

Key area of work: To lead and implement all the aspects of HR Operations for All India staff (700+)

including recruitment, separation, entitlements, employee engagement, payroll administration and database

management. Responsible for execution of HR policies.

Earlier held positions at BHC: Office Manager Responsible for HR and Administration including training

and administration functions of International Professionals (expats) posted to British High Commission Delhi

Office. As HR Recruitment Manager & HR Adviser Responsible for centralized HR functions (including

recruitment) from Delhi office.

Recruitment:

- Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.

- Maintain staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on

candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes.

- Formulate HR strategies for long/short term resource requirement.

- Manage the complete recruitment life cycle for sourcing of talent from diverse sources.

HR Entitlements and Payroll Management:

- Oversee the monthly salary amendment information on All India basis and responsible for collating /

checking pay roll sheets before forwarding to Head of Finance for payment.

- Calculate and advise to Finance on employee entitlements, salary payments and other staff entitlements

eg. Provident Fund, Superannuation Fund, Gratuity, Medical allowance/Hospitalisation cover, Unpaid /

Maternity Leave etc.

- Manage the contractual/permanent/temporary management employment terms and provide right

guidance to staff upon movement.

Employee Engagement:

- Maintains employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing

benefit needs and trends; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit

contract bids; designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.

- Focal point for handling staff and manager’s queries and providing HR advice on policies, processes.

- Set up an internship programme including benchmarking, guidance from London/other posts.

- Manage external customers’ i.e. vendors, suppliers etc. and their enquiries.

Performance Management:

- Advice line managers on performance matters like managing poor performance and performance

improvement plans.

- Compile appraisal ratings and work on quality circles. Report appraisal trends to the Operations Head.

- Act as Training Liaison Officer for New Delhi ensuring all staff personal development plans are filled,

prepare training needs analysis and ensure trainings are conducted within the budget allocated.

Exit Management:

- Responsible for all post exit formalities. Conduct exit interviews, retention discussions, exit analysis and

corrective action planning advice to senior managers.

1. Created leave management process for all India BHC staff with proper monitoring and
