manufacturing and trading supplier of electrical equipment and services,
with operations spread over 22 countries and an annual turnover of $5
billion, to play a critical role in the set up and management of the Middle-
East operations from inception
SELECTED CONTRIBUTIONS & ACHIEVEMENTS
. Restructuring. Established the policies for restructuring the company
operations to make them viable and profitable. The design was to
combine the infrastructure between the units to save costs and
assigning more tasks to the staff, thereby reducing the staff costs.
Developed corporate governance system for the company to ensure that
senior management at the Group and Branch level functioned ethically
and in the best interests of the owners. As result the overheads were
reduced by 30%.
. Discontinued with certain product lines with low margins and high risk
of delayed collections. Revised the product mix to and improved the

at the corporate level for a conglomerate of 18 divisions of a 30 year old
company in the UAE with an annual turnover of $ 150 million, each division
functioning as an independent cost center.

. Streamlined the banking and insurance activities for the entire group.
Company had accounts with more than ten banks and I brought this down
to dealing with only three banks. The interest rates and charges were
negotiated and obtained better facilities.
. Similar to above the Insurance portfolio was streamlined with just two
insurance companies offering all the coverage's at very competitive
premium rates. I received an appreciation from the management for
this.
. The internal controls and reporting was completely revamped by me and
put all the controls in place and ensured the accounting staff
complied with timely and accurate reporting.
. Prepared due diligence and project feasibility reports recommending
vertical & horizontal expansion. This resulted in increasing the
revenues by $50M.
