EXPERIENCE
February 2006 – Present
Sonex Research – Annapolis, MD
Engineering Technician
Designed and demonstrated a prototype generator to Honda Power and Qinetiq resulting in the establishment of a cooperation
agreement which licensed the exclusive use of patent technology. Conducted product demonstration in conjunction with Qinetiq
and the Rapid Equipping Force for an Army General resulting in contracts for prep roduction of field-able generators
Assisted the development of Boeing ScanEagle UAV Heavy Fuel Engine and FAR 33.49 airworthiness testing, resulting in naval
approval and deployment onboard the USS Bainbridge where it assisted in the Captain Richard Philli ps hostage situation
Enhanced durability of Boeing ScanEagle engine to reduce fuel consumption, setting a UAV endurance record
Designed fuel injection systems and small carburetor modifications as well as automated engine starting systems. Prepared
various engine test cells, including a low cost wind tunnel for flight simulation and high/low temperature environments involving
instrumentation, automation, and data logging. Conducted testing on heavy fuel, natural gas, propane, and gasoline fueled en gines
Acted as technical representative providing onsite technical assistance for customers including test flights, test facility pr eparation,
troubleshooting, demonstration and presentation to military, and production initiation thus building rapport and increas ing sales
Drafted patents and served as technical point of contact to attorneys yielding patent awards
Instrumental in novel piston design for advanced, proprietary, mass production -ready construction techniques which resulted in a
patent award
Performed further development of technologies from existing internal patents, including new means of manufacture and
application in applications outside of original scope
Improved internal recycling program resulting in significantly increased recycled materials
2004 – 2009
