WORK EXPERIENCE
Nationwide/Allied Insurance - Salt Lake City, Utah - 1984 through 2010
Claims Service Representative: 1984 through 1995 I handled incoming
calls as well as walk in customers to file insurance claims on a computer.
I explained the claims process, answered questions and assisted in all
areas of the claims handling.
Senior Casualty Claims Representative: 1995 through 2010 I handled
approximately 80 pending casualty insurance claims. My responsibilities
were to address insurance coverage and liability issues due to auto
accidents and liable homeowner losses. My investigations were determined
by interviewing involved parties with face to face meetings, gathering
police reports and obtaining medical records which were all evaluated to
properly settle potential injury losses with the injured party or their
attorney.
EDUCATION
Associate Degree in Business at BYU of Idaho, Rexburg, Idaho
26 years of continuing education in the insurance field
ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND SKILLS
I am a team player. I often assisted my fellow team members by handling
their phone calls and working incoming mail as well as following up on
pending files.
I have developed great negotiation skills during my 26 years of employment
at Nationwide Insurance while settling claims with individuals or their
attorney.
I am well organized and I excelled in work evaluations from my supervisor
in customer service and claims handling.
I have achieved a positive and professional attitude while providing
excellent customer service to all types of people under difficult
situations.
I was bonded while employed at Nationwide Insurance. I retired in 2010.
I enjoy giving back to the community by giving blood, supporting law
enforcement activities and serving in my church.
