HBI plant of ESSAR STEEL Ltd. Is the world's largest steel manufacturer of
Iron .its capacity is 7MTPA with six modules that can produce HBI ( Hot
briquetted iron),HDRI and CDRI products. It uses the MIDREX technology
.All the plants are Natural Gas based and are fully automated. The plants

this can be used in blast furnace &corex plant as a fuel. By product of
coke oven is coke oven gas whose calorific value is 4200 kcal/sm3.This can
be used as a fuel for generating power & various processes in steel plant.

Blowing) Plant
This unit is used to get purest steel grade. The RHTOB plant is designed
based on vacuum system and oxygen blowing system. When liquid steel come
from ladle furnace it is treated in RHTOB. 200 T Ladle lifting
hydraulic system, Argon & nitrogen purging valve rack system, Vacuum
locking system, Oxygen blowing system, Material feeding system, Burner
system, Moving vessel transfer car system.

Project 4: Blast Furnace
Solid raw materials are charged from the top of the Blast furnace through a
tilting-rotating distribution chute via a receiving bin. Hot Blast is
injected into the furnace through circular tuyeres situated along the
circumference of the furnace, just above the hearth. The Blast burns the
Coke, which then produces heat to melt the Iron bearing material and flux,
and also generate the reducing gases to reduce the Iron compounds to
metallic Iron.
Successfully completed the following tasks:
. Continuity checks from Instrument to Junction Box and Junction Box
to DCS/PLC
. Leak Tests of Impulse and Pneumatic tubes
. Range checking/setting of transmitters and switches as
specifies/required.
. Identifications checking like TAG Plates and Ferrules

Engineer of DCS/PLC Vendor)
