OBJECTIVE
WORK EXPERIENCE
Senior Sales Associate
May 2013 - present
Hess Express 8620 Dorchester Rd
Senior sales associate at a gas station and convenience store. Handle all
customers, meet greet as well as assist in pumping gas if necessary. We have
fresh food and Dunkin Donuts in our store and my job also includes making sure
they are both fresh and displays are kept tidy. I sweep, mop, clean and manage
the coolers, ensuring all products are faced, fronted, rotated and up to date. The
insides of these coolers are also to be kept clean and tidy. I was promoted to
senior sales after one because of my ability to work hard, efficient and fast. I
have met the Hess Way of customer service standards and my eight hour shifts
increase sales for the store. If the manager or the assistant is unavailable, it is
my responsibility to receive vendors and their products, to count them and
ensure they are placed in the correct spots quickly without interrupting the flow of
business. I was promoted to safety captain after 6 months. The responsibilities of
the safety captain are to walk the store making sure it is safe of clutter and/or
anything that may cause my co workers or guests to get hurt. I check all of the
equipment, especially the fire extinguishers, alarms, video equipment and
machines to ensure they are working. I also maintain the thermostats on all four
coolers. Once the inside of the store has been thoroughly checked, I walk the
outside of the store and building. I make sure the trash and dumpsters are not
overflowing. I make sure there are no spills or garbage on the floor. It is also my
responsibility to make sure the lighting and pumps are working. Lastly, I have to
control my cash register, closing the shift, ensuring all monies from cash and
debit/credit sales have been accounted for. Must ensure the store is set up and
ready for the next days opening. I work great independently which my 8 hours
shifts require of me, but I am a great team member.
