post of Lecturer in Microbiology in Ministry Of Higher Education

Research Experience:

I have completed Ph.D., in Applied Microbiology (from July 2003 to June

2009) at Centre for Advance Studies in Botany, University of Madras, India.

I have worked as Assistant Professor (October 2009 to March 2011) in

Department of Biotechnology in M.G.R College, Hosur, Tamil Nadu, India.

Currently, I am working as an Assistant Professor (June 2011 to To-date) in

Department of Microbiology in Sengunthar College of Arts and Science,

Tiruchengode, Tamil Nadu, India.

Additionally I have worked as Technical Assistance (one year) in Handling

of instruments like Beckman DU-40 Spectrophotometer, Sonicator,

Ultracentrifuge, PCR and Gel documentation in Centre for Advanced Studies

in Botany, University of Madras in Earn While Learn Programme sponsored by

University of Madras from 2005 to 2006.

I have experience in various fields of Microbiology, Biotechnology,

Molecular biology, Protein purification, Algology and fermentation

technology areas and with good hands-on experience in both classical and

molecular techniques.

I have in-depth knowledge and good hands-on experiences in isolation of

extremophilic microorganisms, screening and characterization of hydrolytic

enzymes from various sources, maintenance and multiplication of bacterial,

fungal and actinomyces cultures and collection and analysis of various

enzyme optimization data etc.,

I have published 6 research articles in international and national

journals, 3 abstracts in national and international conferences, 35

bacterial and fungal gene sequences submitted to NCBI-USA, 8 conferences

attended and 2 training programmes.

I have worked as Co-Supervisor for Post-graduate and M.Phil., students in

India. I have good knowledge in software, bioinformatics tools and also in

statistical analysis. I am a self-starter, highly motivated and genuinely

interested in Microbiology/Biotechnology research and developments.
