• Oversaw weak-link testing and development as a credit ratings analyst, maintaining a
portfolio of clients from 10-20 companies. Liaised with management, news, and
researched/reported on positive and negative impacts to the companies.
• Created mathematical/statistical tests that measured qualitative assessments of
businesses strengths and weaknesses.
• Spearheaded a 3 year project, tasked with inputting twenty years of information for over
3,000 companies that included both Statutory and GAAP data that is now the core of
S&P's data collection and distribution.
• Implemented the first single platform at S&P to utilize one source for its data extractions
and data mining and is still the primary insurance data base utilized by the company's
financial institution analysts.
• Interviewed all members of two boards of directors (mutual and stock companies) and
completed the first Enterprise evaluation which improved transparency of the hybrid
corporate structures which enabled a group of companies to better services its market.
• Utilized tax ID numbers of foreign companies, domestic and global ratings maintained by
S&P, and detailed calculations to merge into a single simple charge that reflected a
company’s best estimated risk exposure to creditors.
• Instituted an S&P model globally, notifying its clients of the higher precision that eliminated
inadequacies and significantly add to free capital to be used in other areas and improve its
risk based capital.
• Estimated loss reserves utilizing various models, research and analysis in determining
best estimates for ongoing liabilities for multiple lines of insurance businesses.
• Designed models to strengthen data collaboration between pricing and reserving units
utilizing advanced actuarial methods.
