Objective:
New Graduate with a BS in Computer Science seeks entry level job. Strong skill in Java and C++
programming.
Education:
9/2010-5/2014, University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, Buffalo, NY.
Bachelor of Science, Computer Science, July 2014.
Relevant Experience & Projects:
10/2012-3/2014 Engineering For A Sustainable World, University at Buffalo
Worked on two projects for this science/environmental club.
Lead a project which measured and displayed the voltage produced by students using stationary bicycles
at elementary and middle schools. Depending on how fast the students pedaled, they could see lights
they powered.
• Designed the project and performed the electrical work.
• Wrote a program in a C language derivative, called Arduino, which converted the electrical signal
produced by the students into data which could be displayed. Delegated data storage and retrieval
programming work to two other students.
• Programmed a Arduino Uno Microcontroller, as we changed features on the bicycle.
• Created Software Planning Documentation for development of a realtime display of voltage produced
by the bicycles. The bicycles will transmit data to wireless devices by bluetooth.
• In a different project, wrote a program in Java to measure the carbon footprint made by using different
methods to dry hands, such as by paper towel, and two kinds of electric dryers.
11/2012-8/2013 Streaming Music Player
Wrote a program in Java to stream music from a computer to a smartphone. Developed software that
opened a socket on the host computer, and allowed streaming via a UDP connection, responding to two
types of queries. Starting with free-sourced code, added capabilities to connect an Android device to a
computer, and play songs residing in the host computer.
• Written in Java to give Object Oriented Mobility for future improvements
• Utilized Sockets/Android API to build a network connecting home computer to phones
9/2013-2/2014, Department of Infrastructure, University at Buffalo
The University does not allow departments to sell items they no longer need. However, they are allowed
to trade items with other departments. Developed a website that provided a database which departments
could use to list and trade items.
• Wrote the base code of the website was written in HTML 5
• Used JavaScript to allow dynamic screen sizes and smartphone compatibility
• Worked with the university’s IT department for logins and permissions, and for guidance regarding
compatibility.
• Used PHP to connect to the MySQL Database and list items dynamically
