Dear Prospective Employer:
You are about to meet a person (on paper, that is) who offers a multitude
of transferable skills from the Railway industry where techniques applied
from my Bachelors in Criminology has attributed to a very successful
career.
I have just completed a four-year assignment involving U. S. Customs and
Border Patrol where I managed a subsidiary for the Canadian Pacific
Railway. This involved managing a staff of eighteen people. Prior to
that, I held an interim position involving building maintenance management
for Aramark where I supervised over (25) employees. This was after a
lengthy career as a Police and Narcotics Officer in the City of Detroit
that was pre-requisited by a stint in the Jackson State Prison, Jackson,
Michigan, as a Correction Officer.
My strengths lie in the detail-oriented abilities to enforce regulations
and policies. I offer a multitude of transferable skills. Some of these
include:
( Being accomplished in PC operation including Internet Search and
Research capabilities.
( Mastering of the entire M.S. Office Suite including the very
challenging Access database program.
( Applied techniques in the Criminology curriculum that have given me
above average people skills to navigate successfully through any obstacle
that may arise.
A copy of my resume is attached for your perusal. I would like an
opportunity to discuss how my expertise can be an asset to your
organization. Thank you for your consideration of my credentials and for
your forthcoming response.
Sincerely,
Karen B. Wilson
