Recruiting and Retention
I processed enlistment contracts, explained benefits, retained soldiers already
enlisted in the military, advertised and displayed military opportunities in schools,
malls, and other public venues.
Running Operations in the biggest unit in the state of Kansas of 299 soldiers
I processed pay roll, initiated and processed administrative actions, formatted and
submitted memorandums for record, updated records, aided in unit training plans
and operations, soldier care, school enrollment for soldier development, budgeted
manpower hours and was assigned additional duties; to include Unit Public Affairs
Representative, Unit Substance Abuse Analyst, and Truckmaster. Additionally, I
was responsible for several million dollars of Military Equipment, such as trucks, flat
racks, weapons, trailers, and field supplies.
I had a five full time manning I had to manage. the Drivers Training Program,
health, welfare, professional development, safety, tactical and technical
competence; directly responsible for $50 million dollars’ worth of MTOE equipment;
completes personnel issues with emphasis on tasks that involve retaining Soldiers
in the ARNG; performs all functions associated with Soldier’s pay, orders, awards,
and schools; advises the Commander on training and unit mobilization readiness
requirements; unit movement plans, convoy clearances working directly with
Department of Transportation, unit alert roster, and home station activities.
Responsible for all mission planning/execution/analysis for transport missions
statewide for two separate transportation companies during deployments.
Sustained 10 years of zero loss for $50 million dollars’ worth of equipment.
