. Performance and Emission test of different mixtures of oils with

Diesel by using Twin cylinder 4-stroke Diesel Engine

. Oils used:

> cashew nut shell oil(CNSO), Camphor oil and diesel

> Turpentine and diesel

. Ratios:

> 40% CNSO + 10% Camphor oil + 50% diesel.(sample 1)

> 35% CSNO + 15% Camphor oil + 50% diesel.(sample 2)

> 50% diesel + 50% turpentine.(sample 3)

Project Summary:

. A twin cylinder 4-stroke diesel engine was operated successfully using

all the samples.

. Fuel consumption, brake power output, brake thermal efficiency,

mechanical efficiency and emissions such as CO, HC, NO, O2, were

measured at various loads. The performance and combustion

characteristics were calculated. The performance, emission and

combustion characteristics of the engine using these fuels are

compared with the diesel fuel operation at maximum power output.
