PROFILE
I have a PhD in chemistry and have worked as a post-doctoral researcher for three years. In my seven years research
career I have worked in diverse areas of chemistry lying at the interface of organic, physical-organic and analytical
chemistry, and phytochemistry. I have also gained experiences of chemical engineering research with a main focus on
chemical separation. My research accomplishments have been published in seventeen peer reviewed scientific journals
publishing in chemistry. In addition, I have taught general chemistry to college students and organic chemistry to
university students for five years, and I bring a unique combination of theoretical knowledge and working experiences.

SUMMARY OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• Acquired very strong understanding of reaction design, synthesis, purification and characterization of several
types of organic compounds applicable in analytical chemistry, biochemistry and chemical engineering.
• Developed a number of functional materials from three different class of macrocylic compounds and explored
the potentiality of new receptors for selective binding and membrane transport of drug conjugates having
receptor-complementary guest handle.
• Developed a small library of synthetic receptors as well as drug conjugates (anticancer, analgesic, enzyme
inhibitors, neurotransmitters, etc) and short peptides, and investigated various parameters effective in
achieving selective membrane transport of small, bio-relevant molecules using the synthetic receptors.
• Addressed the limitations and discovered the subtle requirements of a host-guest system to achieve effective
membrane transport of drug substances utilizing the principles of molecular recognition in vesicle-based
model systems.
