•Essential Duties & Responsibilities
•Responsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment and
systems, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting
the policies, goals and objectives of the company.
•Directly supervise maintenance staff in a fast-paced environment.
•Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and
applicable laws.
•Interview, hiring and training maintenance employees; planning, assigning and
directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees;
addressing complaints and resolving problems.
•Initiate, implement and manage the plant maintenance program based on best
practices in the Food Industry, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and
preventive/predictive maintenance.
•Monitor the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies and equipment
and initiate reordering.
•Computer Maintenance Management System; tracking work orders, spare parts and
maintenance history of plant equipment.
•Prepare reports, analyzes data and make recommendations for improving plant
operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
•Ensure that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped and motivated
so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely and cost-
effective manner.
•Communicate regularly with all maintenance technicians, both individually and as a
group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.
•Conduct employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine
competency, knowledge and contribution of the maintenance technicians.
•Review the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize
unplanned downtime, solve problems in a timely manner and identify
opportunities for improvement.
•Track, analyze and improve key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization,
maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.
•Ensure that plant procedures on GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and all food
safety regulations are being followed.
•Ensured OSHA, health, and EPA policies and procedures are being followed.
•Ensures city, county, state and federal regulations relating to the maintenance
department are met at all times.
•Direct, maintain and enforce the safety program for the maintenance department;
reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all
maintenance technicians.
Maintenance Skills/Qualifications:
33 years experience in an industrial maintenance role with Basic electrical and
mechanical troubleshooting skills
Manage up to 15 employees per shift.
Management, Documentation Skills, Equipment Maintenance, Inventory Control,
Dependable, Initiative, Coordination, Organization, Productivity, Self Motivate.
Computer Skills: Internet, Windows, Microsoft word, Excel, Fax, E-mail, Print.
Skills in troubleshooting and repair of processing and packaging equipment
- Industrial maintenance experience.
- Food plant experience
- Welding/fabrication experience
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics control systems.
- Knowledge of Plumbing and installing Steel, PVC pipe etc.
- Knowledge of installing and aligning Pumps.
- Knowledge of Waste Water Operations.

Building Maintenance and repairs; Plumbing, Lighting, Flooring, Sheetrock, etc.
Forklift Certified, Skid Loader Operator Certified, Electric Pallet Jack Operator Certified.
Genie Boom Lift Certified.
Safety Trained: LOTO, Fall Protection, Confine Space Entry, Chemical Awareness etc.
Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws,
drills, grinders, and wrenches etc., to precision measuring instruments and electrical and
electronic testing devices.
Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints,
repair manuals, and searched for parts in catalogs as necessary.
Installation - Maintenance - Repair transfer Conveyors.
Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run
smoothly.
Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other
maintenance actions.
Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine
malfunctions.
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
Repairing the property including: the building exterior, grounds, mechanical systems,
plumbing systems, etc.
Establish, assign and maintain schedules regarding routine maintenance, landscaping,
cleaning, painting, turnover work, etc.
Estimate repair costs for different projects.
Troubleshooting PLC controls and repair.
Experience with troubleshooting Allen Bradley programmable logic controllers.
Inventory and order supplies, parts, equipment and materials for projects.
