Informatica ETL Developer

The Merlin BI project involves populating data for implementing a flexible

reporting environment that provides access to Merlin HQ, which includes

Tactics and DS Usage modules. The purpose of building Tactics metric was to

provide a mechanism for analyzing the tactics used by Sales Representative

to convince the prescriber about the current product. The purpose of DS

Usage was loading of the DS Usage tables that are used in the reporting

front end.

Responsibilities:

. Analyzing and understanding sources of fixed width Flat files, DB2

Tables, SQL server, Oracle, and target with Oracle.

. Developed ETL processes to load data from SQL Server, Flat files into

the target Oracle database by applying business logic on

transformation mapping for inserting and updating records when loaded.

. Developing Mappings as per the design document with proper naming

conventions for transformations and Mapping variables.

. Developing Tasks/Sessions and workflows as required with session

variables.

. Performance tuning of Informatica workflows

. Working on Informatica - Source Analyzer, Warehouse Designer, Mapping

Designer, Mapplet and Transformations.

. Prepared Unix shell scripts for automation and performance tuning

. Involved in the development of Source to Staging and staging to Target

Mappings.

. Used most of the Transformations such as Source Qualifier, Aggregator,

Lookup, Filter, Sequence generator, Update strategy etc.

. Created Datamaps in Informatica PowerExchange

. Performing the Unit Testing

. Preparing the necessary documents like Unit Test document and SOP.

. Extensively worked in the performance tuning of the programs and ETL

processes.

. Involved in testing support and bug fixes.

Kotak Mahindra is an investment bank serving institutional, corporate,

government and individual clients. Their business include trade finance,

Asset based Finance, Working capital finance, Loans. Banks are information-

intensive and highly dependent on information technology as it critically

dependent on reports for bank operations. It needs Business Intelligence

reports for taking decisions.

RPG LifeSciences is a provider of quality pharmaceuticals and health care

products. The project deals with the Sales and Marketing Data collected

from different tests conducted on the subjects. The data is then

consolidated into the data mart which is used for the report generation.

Responsibilities:

. Extracted data from Oracle, Fixed width and Delimited Flat files

Transformed the data according the business requirement and then

Loaded into Oracle database.

. Modified several of the existing mappings and created several new

mappings based on the user requirement.

. Working on Informatica - Source Analyzer, Warehouse Designer, Mapping

Designer, Mapplet and Transformations.
