Contractor. Project cost range: $100 thousand--thru--$10 million. Responsibilities included:
Production review of all proposals and project estimates prior to submission to client; lead
negotiations in subcontract procurement; complete management of project supervision, trade
partners, budget status & construction schedule; AIA Contracts; AIA Change Orders; Lead
Liaison in Owner-Contractor negotiations; and, supervising the streamlining of the Pittsburgh
production department resources through the continued implementing of newest technology in
project management software systems.

Services & Testing; (2.) Geotechnical Engineering; (3.) Subsurface Investigation & Drilling
Group; (4.) Environmental Engineering & Asbestos Lab; and (5.) Non-Destructive Steel
Testing (NEDT).
Senior Estimator, John Deklewa & Sons Inc., Pittsburgh, PA 2001-2004
Functioned and Delivered as senior person to department manager. Responsibilities
included: Identifying potential bid opportunities; Generating the complete bid proposal and
estimate; Establishing complete labor and production costing; Leading negotiations for
subcontract buyouts; Supervising, yet motivating, fellow estimators during the bid process;
and Initiating the streamlining of department resources through the continued implementing of
computerized pricing and takeoff methods.
Estimator II/Project Engineer, Massaro Company, Pittsburgh, PA 1998-2001
Performed as senior estimator within that department of a full-service general contracting
company. Functioned as lead estimator on several hard bid a nd negotiated projects; job sizes
range from $500,000 to $16 million.
Additional responsibilities would also include: the coordination of subcontractor and
related trades involvement during pre-construction negotiations; complete scope review for
subcontractor buyout; operations support following project turnover meetings; and serving as a
mentor to our entry level estimators.
Estimator/Project Engineer, DJB Construction Group, Raleigh, NC 1997-1998
Worked directly under the Pre-construction Manager of a general contracting company
with an annual volume of $150 million; operating within hard bid, negotiated and design -build
estimating formats.
Responsibilities ranged from generating estimate proposals from RFP through
subcontractor buyout and up to project management turnover and expediting bid day
operations and assignments.
Estimator, Baker-Mellon-Stuart Construction, Inc., Pittsburgh, PA 1996-1997
Developed comprehensive estimating techniques while working within various budgetary
constraints on GC and CM hard bid projects. Strengthened contractor -sub-client
communication skills through daily solicitations with architects/engineers, subcontractors and
suppliers. Attained a working knowledge of contracts and design/project specifications.
Civil / Construction Engineer, Earth Sciences Consultants, Pgh., PA 1995-1996
Responsible for the entire construction QA/QC monitoring and documentation at a
developing northeastern Ohio industrial waste landfill. Coordinated construction activities
with the everyday scheduling operations of the site for the eight -month duration of the project;
acted as construction liaison between the engineering, environmental and construction firms;
and became nuclear gauge certified for field inspection purposes.
