Global Strategic Applications Director 2013-Present

. With the successful implementation of an EDW and Global Business

intelligence environment, I was promoted to Strategic Applications

Manager. I was given the responsibility of managing all applications in

the company with the exception of the ERP. This includes Cognos TM1,

Avercast, SharePoint, EDI, Cognos Controller, Cognos BI and EDW.

. I personally began with the implementation of TM1 for financial

budgeting and forecasting in the company and hired an additional

resource later on to take over the project. We have successfully

implemented cubes for Financial Forecasting for Revenue, Costs,

Expenses and Balance Sheet.

. Continued growing the BI strategy in the company and transitioned all

BI responsibilities to the newly promoted BI administrator.

Global Business Intelligence Manager 2011-2013

. Once I proved my ability to lead and build a Data warehouse and BI

environment from scratch, I was promoted to Global Business

Intelligence Manager with the task of expanding what I had built in the

Americas to the other regions in the company - EMEA, APAC and the

manufacturing plant in Mexico.

. A consulting firm out of Norway had built an existing Global BI

environment in Europe using Cognos 8.4, the structure was slow,

inaccurate and any changes or new requirements would take a long time

to develop. Different IT managers without success had taken the lead on

the implementation but failed to meet global expectations. I carefully

examined the existing structure and determined that a Data Warehouse

with a Star Schema and Slowly Changing dimensions would provide a solid

structure.

. I decided to migrate to Cognos 10.1 and consolidate the Americas and

the current global environment into a single platform. In order to

meet this overwhelming task I hired and personally trained two people.

One would be the Data warehouse Architect and the other a Business

Intelligence Analyst.

. Once my team was in place we took the Americas BI 8.3 version and

upgraded it into Cognos version 10.1. We then took the existing content

from the Global BI 8.4 version and recreated it into the new 10.1

environment, while improving the appearance, content and efficiency of

the reports, dashboards and cubes.

. In order to recreate the content from the global BI we created an

Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) using SQL scripts, jobs and Stored

Procedures to Extract, Load and Transform the data. We combined data

from two separate Syteline ERP systems, one Dynamics ERP system and a

Syteline MRP system.

. Coordinated with IBM Cognos the transfer of licenses from the European

site to the US for consolidation and easier management while

negotiating substantial discounts for additional licenses.

. Used additional third party applications to extract data into the EDW

for Global reporting such as Avercast - Demand Forecasting, Cognos

Controller - Financial consolidating tool, Excel spreadsheets and

others.

. Created training materials and performed user training in Australia,

Holland, US and Mexico for users within the company.

. Currently involved in the development of cubes, dashboards and

financial reports for the entire Company.

Americas where two separate instances of Cognos BI with different
