Microbiology Laboratory Analyst: Conduct microbiological testing and analysis on water and
food samples to determine microbial load and/or to detect contamination of samples. Conduct
studies and analysis with various organisms to include Salmonella typhimurium, Listeria
monocytogenes, Clostridium sp., Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas
aeruginosa, Saccharomcyes cerevsiae, Geobacillus stearothermophilus, Yersinia.
Method Development: Creating working instructions, validating/verifying new working
instructions and training other staff members in performing the working instructions.
Conduct Commercial Sterility testing and Spoilage Can analysis on canned products.
Ackee Grading- Grading of Canned Ackees.
Product sampling, registration and preparation for analysis.
Execution of Quality Control measures to ensure good laboratory practices and standards:
Includes monitoring of equipment for microbial load and correct temperature maintenance as
well as calibration or verification where applicable in house.
Preparation and maintenance of Quality Control cultures: Resuscitation and maintenance of
ATCC reference microbiological cultures and transfers as is required to keep the cultures alive.
Conduct validation and verification studies on developed or reformulated products to
determine suitability for consumption.
Plant/site visits to conduct air quality testing and equipment swabbing.
