Experience

Graduate Research Asst. Dept. of Biology and Biochemistry, Univ of Houston (Jan 2014 - Present)

Evaluated the effect of micro-RNAs on Ovarian cancer cell lines.

Studied the effect of micro-RNAs in sensitizing cancer cells to various drugs including Cisplatin

and ABT-737.

Senior Research Asst., Leukemia Department, MD Anderson Cancer Center (Mar 2011 - Aug 2013)

Crucial part of a two member team that worked on two clinical trials.

“Clinical trial to evaluate the effect of an MDM2 inhibitor in AML and CLL patients-Phase-I and II”

Processed the blood samples (Ficoll and/or RBC lysis)

markers tested.

Tested an autophagy marker. Measured the autophagy marker on a BD LSR-II and the rest on a

Beckman Coulter Galios.

Data analysis using Kaluza.

“Clinical trial to determine the effect of a CXCR4 inhibitor and G-CSF with a Flt-3 inhibitor in patients with

CML”

Analyzed blood samples collected from patients for changes in various stem cell markers and

adhesion molecules using flow cytometry. Data Analysis using Kaluza.

Analyzed all samples using a Beckman Coulter Galios.

Research Asst. II, Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy, MD Anderson Cancer Center

(Mar 2007-Mar 2011)

“Effect of MDM2 inhibitors in AML, CLL, CML, Lymphoma” (Dr. Michael Andreeff and Dr. Gautam

Borthakur)

Evaluated a novel MDM2 inhibitor in AML, CLL, CML and Lymphoma
