To the Human Resources Manager:
I would like to express my strong interest in becoming a member of your team. I am an experienced
manufacturing worker with exceptional technical knowledge. I’m confident that my candidature will surely
exceed your expectations.
My experience in the manufacturing world is immense including Caterpillar, G&G Contractors and Eastern
Components. I am a hard-working individual who can handle everything in a production environment from
forklift to inventory, computer routings, machine operations, and leadership positions. As a Team Leader I’ve
had the opportunity to supervise employees in various aspects of the job. Having spent a number of years in
manufacturing, I understand the need to work long shifts with minimal breaks and developed great physical
capabilities to perform manual work efficiently.
I have handled many important responsibilities such as troubleshooting, repairing, analyzing errors in
production, providing guidance to other technical personnel and manufacturing team, contributing in developing
work instructions and batch records, and providing corrective actions and advices. I also understand the need for
safety precautions both for myself and other people around me. I’m 100% trained and dedicated to ensuring that
all OSHA regulations are maintained according to policy.
I would welcome the opportunity for an interview and explore the possibility of working with your
organization. Thank you for your attention.
Sincerely,
Terence D. Green

Letter of Explanation
In November 2010, I was convicted of felony drug possession. I did not serve any jail time for this, but was
placed on 22 months probation which I completed successfully. I know what I did was wrong and there is no
excuse for my actions. It was a result of poor decision making on my part and it hurt a lot of people. I’ve
learned a great lesson and will never repeat those past mistakes.
While on probation I’ve obtained jobs at major corporations such as Caterpillar and G&G Contractors. I have
also become a husband, mentored youth, volunteered my time with the Red Cross and faithfully attend First
Church of Fayetteville NC. I am looking forward to getting back to full-time employment so I can further
demonstrate the changes in my life and be a responsible, productive member of society.
I can understand why you may be hesitant to hire someone with my background. However I am eligible for
The Federal Bonding Program which can ensure my honesty and integrity on the job. Additionally, if you hire
me you’ll be eligible for Work Opportunity Tax Credits to save you some money this year. I will be happy to
provide you more information about those programs upon meeting.
