PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN
• Automatic fault detecting and removing robot
The project aimed at developing a robot capable of identifying objects and then deciding whether they are faulty or not
thus eliminating the need of manual inspection of objects in an assembly line production system. The programing of robot
was done using Embedded C and the image processing was achieved using MATLAB Project tenure was two semesters
(August 2012-June 2013).
Areas Covered: - Digital Image Processing, Serial communication between devices, AVR ATmega16 Microcontroller.
• Home automation using cell-phone
In this project a module was made, capable of remotely operating domestic electrical appliances using a cell phone. The
control signals were obtained by decoding the DTMF tones of cell phone, further processed by a microcontroller deciding
which appliance to operate. The project duration was of four months. (Feb 2102- May 2012).
Areas Covered: - DTMF decoding, AVR ATmega16 Microcontroller, Relay operation.
• RFID based pre-paid energy meter
This project aimed at making a smart pre-paid energy meter, which would eliminate the need of door to door energy
meter reading and at the same time providing an easy way to customers to pay their electricity bills. The project revolved
around 8051 microcontroller and a RFID reader, programmed using embedded C. The project completion time was two
months.

• Automatic train monitoring system at railway crossings
The aim of this project was to display the accurate position of a train, about to cross railway crossings, so as to avoid
mishaps at that crossing. The position of train was monitored using proximity sensors and a display system was deployed
at railway crossing to show train’s current location. The project duration was two months.
