• Design of a punch force sensor by placing an accelerometer in a boxing glove
• Measures the acceleration of a single punch
• Calculate the results with measured arm mass of a punch to obtain the force
Multidisciplinary Modeling Class Project “Flute Model”
• 2D Model of inside cross-section of a flute using COMSOL
• Using Pressure Acoustics physics to determine Eigen-frequencies
Engineering Practice Class Project “The Smart Streetlight”
• Revolutionary idea that could save energy in the future
• Prototype uses an infrared sensor to determine the traffic volume of each street
• Determines how long each light should be on in order to save energy
• The idea was honored at the School, Regional, and Statewide level in the Invention Convention
Engineering by Design Class Project “Acoustics and Design”
• Group was assigned a room and measured the background noise and transmission loss
• A solution was proposed to eliminate the issues to make the room a more comfortable working environment
